Heatwave in Berlin, sleep-deprived and feeling the weight of the sweltering night. Sunday rolls around and heavy rain decides to crash the party, so no usual long sunday route today. I opted for the shorter Louiseninsel route later after the rain stopped instead. The palace gardens, drenched and humid, felt like a tropical rainforest, with temperatures still over 20 degrees Celsius despite the downpour. But then i met two new shy park residents that added a touch of unexpected delight to an otherwise steamy, sweat-soaked morning.
