Today I have a very beautiful white peacock! I always admire their beauty with great pleasure. They are of course very different from the usual blue. But also unique and beautiful! It’s a pity that I can’t catch them in all their glory with a fluffed tail .... But as they say, everything is still ahead) This species was discovered in the 18th century. They were first found in India, where, in principle, they live, and you can also meet them in nature in Pakistan, China, Nepal and Sri Lanka.
They prefer overgrown shores along lakes, as well as forests, where they most often hide in shrubs. In my photo beautiful females, long stunning tail, of course, only in males. That's always .... all the beauty of men. These birds belong to the pheasant family. Despite all their amazing beauty, their closest relatives consider our domestic chickens)
Surprisingly, such an elegant little head and as if in a crown) that is how their tuft looks. Powerful body and long neck. Females are smaller than males. Weight is about 5 kg.
In India, this bird is in high esteem and is protected. It is also considered a symbol of beauty and wealth. In nature, peacocks can be found in small flocks. Despite the fact that the birds are well able to fly, most of their time they spend on the ground. They fly only at the sight of danger and then not over long distances.
The diet of birds consists of small insects, mammals and even snakes. As well as various fruits, berries, nuts.
