OCD's support is expanding!

Hello everyone! This is the 1514th compilation post of OCD's latest curation efforts. It has been known that OCD has been supporting leading niche communities under its Community Incubation Program. However, there are still a lot of other niche communities not supported by OCD. This curation initiative will help in supporting those communities.

This newest curation effort aims to encourage authors to post in appropriate communities even if those communities are not under the incubation program. This will also encourage users to explore more into the different communities in Hive.

How this Works

OCD curators and community leaders will find posts from other niche communities and recommend them for an upvote. Unlike those communities in the incubation program where curation is focused, this curation initiative is spread out. This will help find undervalued posts from smaller communities that deserve support.

This will highlight both the author and the community where the post is located. This way, smaller niche communities can focus on growing their subscribers and increasing the engagements within their respective communities. A small boost goes a long way.

Speaking of boost, here are the curated posts for this batch:

Staying organized

I remember years ago in the hostel, I had a room where I stayed alone, then in this room was my kitchen, sitting room, and bedroom. The way I arranged this room neatly made some of my friends want to come around. One day, a friend came looking for me and I asked her to sit while I get some things outside before I could come back, this girl was already eating. Guess what she was eating with? She took my poo portey (what we use when there's no water system toilet) to eat🤣 Jesus is Lord was what came out of my mouth when I saw that scene. How did it happen, it was so neat and clean, placed near my other buckets but she thought it was big enough to eat. She nearly died that day 🤣🤣

Three Tune Tuesday | Creedence Clearwater Revival | [ESP/ENG]

Neither my friends nor I knew any English, so it was very difficult for us to know what the songs were about.

There were few ways to access a translation. One was when an announcer would do a special program on the radio where he would talk in depth about a band and then translate a song or two. The other way to know the lyrics was to take a trip to downtown Caracas (I lived in the West) to buy an old copy of Rolling Stone magazine at the Washington bookstore, which specialized in English texts, where there were always some lyrics included. Then together we would make a sloppy translation using some Larousse school dictionary.

But knowing the lyrics was the least important thing, I would say it was irrelevant for us. Music has a language of its own that connects directly to the feeling. It was enough that the rhythm struck us, that some voice transmitted an emotion to us, to let us be seduced, enjoy and love that music that our parents found very strange.

MusicalMonday | "Te Amo" Franco de Vita cover [Eng-Esp]

As always it is a great pleasure to greet you friends of this prestigious musical community in Hive, once again to bring you a new live performance fresh out of the oven for this "MusicalMonday" that's right, starting the week active and of course doing what we love and what unites us in this space: that magic we call music.

X [EN/ES]

His given name is Equis, but artistically everybody in Cuba knows him by X. His sister goes by the name of M, and both are the children of a couple crossed by Africanness, which is the same as saying full of musicality. It is necessary to start, yes, from Carlos Alfonso and Ele Valdés to understand the enormous talent of their offspring, and that innovative and revolutionary spirit that does not understand borders in music. Alfonso and Valdés are the outstanding faces of an anthological group of the Cuban sonorous patrimony, "Síntesis", in which from a very sanguine identification with the African culture—the root of everything—, they were in charge of covering that tradition with everything they assimilated from abroad, such as funk, rock, and jazz, transgressive genres—to say the least—in the Cuba of the bearded ones.

X, the genius I present to you today—and it is not gratuitous to call him a genius, because he sings, composes, creates visual wonders, undertakes, and thinks—, came out of that blessed madness, and has established himself as a key player in explaining the country musically and socially. He has a rather rare stamp for the current context: his music is attractive, and at the same time it is loaded with meaning; it has a purpose. Audiences connect with him because X sings about what happens in the street, but he doesn't stay there, he puts the spotlight mainly on those below. The latter invariably brings him back to the drama of our slave heritage, and people value and reward this commitment.

But touching again on his work from a more musical perspective, Alfonso—influenced since he was a child by Queen, Zeppelin, or Michael Jackson—has known how to add the necessary contemporary ingredients so as not to be left behind. That is why he was one of the first to fuse hip-hop and electronic music elements with Cuban roots, although in a logic that is perhaps the opposite of that of the Orishas group, with a different hierarchical order. His voice has peculiar traits, but above all, it is sincere. I will immediately share three of X's tunes, which I found very difficult to choose from among so much well-crafted music delivered by this Havana-born entrepreneur.

SECUESTRO EN CARNAVAL // KIDNAPPING IN CARNIVAL

Sebastian experienced that morning a feeling of anxiety mixed with joy that did not allow him to manipulate the objects, he would see her again, this time he would be even closer than the last opportunity that life gave him to have her a few meters away from him, when the candidates for the Venice carnival posed for press photos on a small bridge of the canal.

Visitando la Feria del Carnaval de Santa Cruz de Tenerife — Visiting the Amusement Park of Santa Cruz de Tenerife🎢🎡🎟️

I walked to this place by chance, as I did not know that the fair was there. Although I had passed by a few days before while the attractions were being installed, I was unaware that the magnitude of the fair was so big. There are a lot of kiosks selling fast food, gifts, souvenirs, and even places where you win prizes for hitting darts, those that always appear in movies and series (I do not remember the name of these places). It is my first carnival on the island and I did not know that this fair was installed in the place, on the esplanade and Constitution Avenue, right next to the Santa Cruz Interchange.

[ESP-ENG] Iniciativa: Aprendiendo a ser amable conmigo misma.

I have always been a very helpful person with others, for whatever they need me I am always there, Edioretza always can or could, but when it was about myself, then I did not ask for that help, and did not bother anyone, many times I was stressed by situations that perhaps would have been more bearable if I had asked for that help that I gave to others.

And a lot happened to me and it happens to all moms when we buy for our children no matter the price or how much we spend, but when it comes to us we find it hard to do it, we over think, it happened to me for a long time until I realized that I also deserve to buy things, and I tried to convince myself that I could do it, that I also deserve to eat a chocolate alone, and that it is not wrong, I just deserve it, and in that sense it was decreasing a little bit that guilt I felt when I bought something, well I think it still exists but I am in the process of healing that.
