It's nice joining the minimalist for the first. I hope am welcome.
Is there a way you utilize space that makes you feel less overwhelmed with item ownership? Show us your secret ways to stay organized.
Right from my growing up days, I have learned how to utilize my small space so that I can be organized and I thought I was organized until I met some individuals. My friends from another home, they can scatter ehn馃槺
When you talk about being organized, I think I fall in line because I hate my things scattered.
I don't like when people scatter things for me if you must take cup in my kitchen, return to the kitchen, and not drop it anywhere. My siblings or those who live around me can attest to this fact馃憣
I remember years ago in the hostel, I had a room where I stayed alone, then in this room was my kitchen, sitting room, and bedroom. The way I arranged this room neatly made some of my friends want to come around. One day, a friend came looking for me and I asked her to sit while I get some things outside before I could come back, this girl was already eating. Guess what she was eating with? She took my poo portey (what we use when there's no water system toilet) to eat馃ぃ Jesus is Lord was what came out of my mouth when I saw that scene.
How did it happen, it was so neat and clean, placed near my other buckets but she thought it was big enough to eat. She nearly died that day 馃ぃ馃ぃ
But when I married my husband, things became so difficult because he did not care about staying organized. The first few months were me nagging over this and that馃 I'm used to putting dirty clothes in the laundry but my husband doesn't. If I wanted to wash, I still needed to fetch his clothes here and there and this had to stop one day when I told him, I could no longer pick dirty clothes except in the laundry. Did he adjust? Yes, but it took him more time before he could adjust.
My hubby is also the type who scatters wardrobe with clothes and the fact that we use the same wardrobe gives me issues with folding again and again. I gave one compartment out of 6 compartments just for him to stay organized. Did he adjust? Yes, he did.
When I was nursing my children, people used to ask how I did it without them messing up everywhere with toys and others. Simple, no toys in the living room, and when done playing, we pack them immediately to stay organized. They grow up with this habit馃憣 You can never see my home scattered because I have children.
If anyone enters my space I will know because they would have changed the direction of one thing or the other. I arrange my things in an orderly manner e.g. shoes, clothes, undies, ba, gs, and so on. I don't look for this and that once they are well organized.
It is very hard sometimes to stay organized especially when you are with people who care less.
