This is a continuation of my previous freewrites, and the character Lasarkai, in an attempt to string together a single narrative using free-write prompts.
Clipper watched the urchins all day, observing their patterns as they ran through the crowded market. Little hands darted into pockets, swiped items from carts and stalls, and generally were unnoticed in their actions. A few times, someone would raise a cry and the group would laugh and whoop uproariously, scattering into alleys and crowded streets like cockroaches running from a sudden noise.
After a few minutes, they'd filter back into the market, making their rounds between merchants and buyers. They were like a well-rehearsed dance. Half of them seemed to just be distractions, while the others performed the delicate thievery.
"Impressive, isn't it?" a new voice remarked to Clipper's right.
He grinned. "Tick-Tock. What are you doing here?"
The older student sat down on the roof beside him, legs dangling off the edge. "Came to see why you hadn't made it back to the tavern yet. Those little buggers can be hypnotic. You've been done training for over a bell now."

This was inspired by a random character I generated using a Java program I developed for D&D, DMing, and Writing. In my first free-write, I decided to challenge myself by attempting to string each prompt together into a single narrative.
