Dwayne was a little known footballer. He was initially spotted by a physical education teacher who saw his dribbling skills while putting Dwayne and others through some physical activities.
The physical education teacher the recommended him to a non league side who gave him a free trial. Dwayne passed it and in no distant time he was given his first professional contract.
In two seasons with the non league side Dwayne distinguished himself promoting the non league side to recommend himself to their parent club. The parent club did not that recommendation seriously. They allowed Dwayne to be snapped up by a league two side for a minimal fee.
Just one season at the league two side Dwayne stock rose astronomically. The ante is big clubs across Europe were raised. Huge fees were quoted for his signature.
The league two side then sold Dwayne to a top European club for a record fee.
When the manager of the non league side ran into the director of the league two side their conversation was basically on the 'hot' sale of Dwayne.
"Your loss was our gain", he told him.
Both men laughed heartily and Dwayne went on to become a super starin year to come.
