Papaya Jelly Candy
Papaya candy is a blend of papaya fruit and jelly covered with sugar. It is shaped like a marble and has an attractive color for your child.
Papaya is one of the fruits that has many benefits for your body, especially having good benefits for the digestive system and also for eye health, so that makes me really like this one fruit. Yesterday, to be precise, after doing activities with students practicing here, I asked them to help me take some unripe papayas. They were very excited when they picked the unripe papayas, and asked how much I needed, before I replied without thinking they had already picked 3 unripe papayas. What's that much papaya for, I thought to myself, I only took one papaya and they took the other 2 to be cooked that afternoon.
At first I took the initiative to make side dishes from papaya, but because I missed my childhood, when I often made papaya candy with my sister at home. Without further ado, I came up with the idea to make a modern version of papaya candy that I found on the internet. Well maybe a little different but the taste is also the best in this dish.
Ingredients
After bringing the papayas home, I also prepared some of the ingredients that I would need when making candy, including the following ingredients:
- 1 papaya
- 1 sachet of agar-agar powder
- Food coloring to taste
- 300 grams of sugar
Cooking Steps
In making papaya candy, which is legit and also has the right sweet taste and a little water content, there are several things that need to be considered in the technique of preparing the ingredients and how to cook it.
- The first time I prepared the papaya, peeled the outer skin of the papaya, then cut several parts and then I washed it so that the sap didn't stick to the papaya flesh.
- Next I start grating the papaya with a cheese grater, this is so the papaya isn't too smooth when it's cooked.
- The next step, I put the grated papaya that has been grated into a napkin or cheesecloth. Then squeeze the water until you make sure the water content in the papaya runs out.
- Next, now I start cooking the candy by putting the papaya in the pan, then adding the sugar.
- Then add the vanilla powder and continue with 1 packet of agar-agar powder.
- Then turn on the fire, and cook, stirring gently while cooking, until the candy really thickens perfectly.
- After the candy is cooked, I divide into 3 parts to color with food coloring, and color according to your taste.
- I colored it with colors, pink, green and also yellow, now after everything is colored, take a spoon of the smallest size and round it slowly.
- Now, after you have rounded it, rub it into the sugar, now roll all the candy parts, after everything is done, air the candy for a while or you can dry it for a while so that the candy hardens perfectly and can be stored longer.

The magic candy from unripe papaya fruit is ready to be used, its sweet taste with a legit texture gives the best impression of this candy. Well, of course the impression of how my beautiful childhood together with my sister used to make this candy, it's just that it used to be very different, from messy shapes to hard textures. But this time I really like it, the soft texture on the inside is legit and the sweet taste of the sugar dressing as the outermost topping.
I got quite a jar full of candy and this I will also gift some to my niece in the tomorrow. They must be very happy to receive a magic candy gift from papaya.
