I rode ahead to locate a Phylake, and the duel quickly turned deadly as I took heavy damage. Using sleep darts, fire arrows, and my overpower ability, I dealt solid damage before more soldiers joined in. Severely injured and outnumbered, I scrambled up a mountain to heal.
I did not quite know why I felt confident enough to take on a Phylake, but I decided to test my luck anyway. I rode ahead toward a spot where I knew one of those lethal warriors would be patrolling.
It seemed like he was already searching for me as well. As I drew closer, he spotted me immediately. I tried to land a clean shot with my bow, but the arrow missed him completely.
Realizing a long-range approach would not work, I dismounted my horse to face the Phylake directly on foot.
He closed the distance fast and hit me with a brutal strike. I was already suffering from low health due to an arrow he had landed earlier, making every single hit extremely dangerous.
I focused on timing my dodges against his heavy swings, though dodging his aggressive pattern was far from easy. Desperate to create space, I threw a sleep dart straight at him.
The dart actually worked and held him back for a brief moment, but I could not find a clean opening to strike. Before I could reset my stance, he recovered and lunged at me once again.
I hit him with another sleep dart, and while he was momentarily stunned rather than completely fast asleep, I moved in to strike. I managed to deal some decent damage with that tactic and even set him ablaze with a few well-placed fire arrows.
Despite burning, he refused to go down easily and kept pressing forward directly at me. I maintained my distance and kept firing arrows into him, slowly building up my energy until my overpower ability was fully charged and ready.
Just as I prepared to launch my ultimate attack, more soldiers joined the battle to back up the Phylake, making a terrible situation even worse. I activated my special ability anyway and unleashed a wave of furious attacks on the Phylake.
The rapid strikes caused heavy damage and left him completely unable to counterattack. However, once my special ability wore off, my health was dangerously low. Realizing I could not defeat an entire group on my own, I made a break for it and scrambled up a nearby mountain.
The enemies chased me relentless across the terrain, but I eventually broke line of sight, lost my pursuers, and caught my breath to regain my health.
I'll show more of my photographic journey of the games soon, so stay tuned to my blog if you liked them.
