Her name is Freida McFadden, and she writes magnificent, highly enjoyable thrillers, full of suspense and plot twists. This is the third in the "The Housemaid" series, which also recently received a movie release on Amazon Prime. In the third book, we find the protagonist Millie, who has emerged from a thousand adventures and unusual cases, but here we find her as an adult with two children and married to Enzo, whom she met in the first book of the saga. Millie and Enzo, after many sacrifices, manage to get a mortgage on their dream home, a beautiful little house in a beautiful, very wealthy and well-kept neighborhood. Millie is very enthusiastic about the new home, but her children are a little less so, especially Ada, the eldest daughter, who is struggling with the move, while Nico, the youngest, seems to adjust better. However, Millie soon discovers that the neighborhood is not as idyllic as she imagined. She immediately meets a super attractive but also very unpleasant neighbor, Mrs. Lowell, who doesn't hesitate to flirt with Enzo and devalue Millie with her extra pounds and slightly sloppy look. Then there's another very nosy neighbor who always stays indoors and spies on the neighborhood and who only comes out to take her son to the school bus. She also doesn't treat Millie well, judging her a bad mother because she's a working mother.

Se llama Freida McFadden y escribe thrillers magníficos y muy entretenidos, llenos de suspense y giros inesperados. Este es el tercer libro de la serie "La criada", que también se estrenó recientemente en Amazon Prime. En este tercer libro, encontramos a la protagonista, Millie, quien ha salido de mil aventuras y casos insólitos, pero aquí la encontramos adulta, con dos hijos y casada con Enzo, a quien conoció en el primer libro de la saga. Millie y Enzo, tras muchos sacrificios, consiguen una hipoteca para la casa de sus sueños, una preciosa casita en un barrio elegante, muy rico y bien cuidado. Millie está muy ilusionada con la nueva casa, pero sus hijos no tanto, sobre todo Ada, la mayor, a quien le cuesta adaptarse a la mudanza, mientras que Nico, el pequeño, parece estar mejor. Her son, Nico, also seems to have changed since he started doing some chores for the Lowells; he's darker, more sullen, and more violent at school. Furthermore, the nosy neighbor makes Millie suspect her husband is cheating on her, and Millie begins to investigate, trying to figure out what exactly is going on in the house of her attractive neighbor, whose husband is far too placid and subservient. Meanwhile, she has to keep the household afloat, make ends meet, and try to raise her children as best she can. Nico isn't making life easy for her; he seems to have taken a bad path, and Millie fears he might be a psychopath and dangerous. But is Nico really the danger in this story? What are the Lowells really hiding? And why is the nosy neighbor so afraid that some of her children might disappear? And is Enzo really having an affair? Obviously I can't write anything else because otherwise it becomes a spoiler. However, it is a very interesting and intriguing book like all of McFadden's books that I adore. Perhaps it is the least intriguing of the trilogy but it is still a thriller that will keep you glued to the pages and that will involve you a lot!

Quizás sea el menos intrigante de la trilogía, pero sigue siendo un thriller que te mantendrá pegado a sus páginas y que te atrapará por completo.
