Hello everyone, how are you? I have been in Aceh for 10 days for a major activity. In Aceh, I have visited many places. Luckily on this trip, there were lots of places and food that I could enjoy. OK, this time I want to tell you about one of the foods in Aceh. This is not about Mie Aceh, but this is Satay.
The name of this satay is Sate Matang. Three unique things that I found when eating this satay. The salad is served with peanut sauce, but it's not like the spices I usually get. This cooked satay is served with soto sauce and rice. Uniquely, in the soto sauce, there are pieces of potato, fried onions, and so on. Which if eaten with satay will add to the completeness of the taste.
Oh yes, I haven't told you yet, but I enjoyed Saya Matang D'wang at Blang Cut, Banda Aceh City. He said this place has been selling for 32 years. So, this place is never quiet. Oh yes, this satay comes from Matang Geulumpang Dua Village. Different from the satay I encountered on the island of Java, this satay has a savory taste and no soy sauce added. The satay here is seasoned with spices and then grilled.
The spices used are cardamom, star anise, cloves, pepper, and other secret spices. The beef is marinated for several hours before being grilled. So, the taste of the meat is not bland. Initially, I felt that the peanut sauce served on this satay was different from the satay I encountered in Madura. The texture is rougher
How about the taste? Soft and fragrant. Oh yes, the satay here comes from Matang Geulumpang Dua Village. The word "Matang" used refers to Matang Geulumpang Dua Village which is located in Bireuen. That's the information I got from the satay seller here.
Previously, Matang satay used goat meat. Because the price is quite expensive, we use beef. Oh yes, in terms of price, this satay is sold for IDR 35,000 per portion. Comes with rice and soto sauce. Everyone who comes will be immediately served satay.
Oh yes, the presentation here is quite fast. Buyers will be served quickly. The sellers don't forget to smile. This is a very impressive experience being in Aceh. This food (Sate) is not only sold on the island of Java. The island of Sumatra has a very delicious satay. The following is my story about this food, see you in my next story.
