When it comes to dealing with this emotion called "anger," I like to be practical so you know where I was coming from.

As humans with emotions, it's normal to be angry; so many things can unfold and make one really mad at each other, but what matters is our manner of approach to curb things from getting escalated.

Before now, I used to get angry and react so quickly, but to be sincere, it never did me any good but bad until I Learned the hard way and began working on my emotions.

Naturally, I am so emotional in many ways, not only getting angry when I am hurt but also breaking down at the sound of bad news that doesn't even affect me, but for the fact that I heard that a bad thing happened to someone, I will find myself crying and screaming as if it's my own case. That's how much of an emotional person I am.

But then, dealing with anger so far is something that has taken a different turn for me. I think each day we grow and mature to become a better person, at least through life experiences. Before now, I got angry easily and reacted almost immediately, and later on, I would be swimming in the ocean of regrets. I would wish for the hand of the clock to reverse so I can handle things better.

It's okay to express ourselves when we are hurt, but the manner we do so matters a lot. Anger is an emotion that should be controlled; otherwise, it leads to regrets and bad outcomes. I know I have made issues escalate through my reaction when I was angry. I know it took my time to rebuild a relationship that anger almost cost. I also know that I lost money due to my reaction when I was angry; all these made me rethink and begin working on my emotions.

So for a very long time now, I don't get angry so easily at all, and even when I am angry, I don't react immediately. In fact, I may not react that day, and if it's something that warrants that I must react or respond that day, I give it an hour to be calm, to really reflect on what transpired, and to know how to softly respond to avoid getting things escalated.

Take for instance, just yesterday, because I like to refer to recent happenings so you see how much I have come in dealing with this common emotion. I was highly hurt yesterday, I was boiling inside seeing how my own loved one speaks ill of me, something I couldn't place where it was coming from. It's more painful to see that you're being painted black after all your sincere sacrifice that deserves gratitude instead.

I wanted to express and defend myself, but then I learned that not all reactions or actions need expression at the moment , and so I decided to keep calm. I swallowed all bitter talk, kept quiet like a fool while holding my emotions, forced myself to sleep, and then woke up this morning to calmly express myself. There was no longer anger in my heart, no tension, but with relaxed nerves to handle things more carefully while choosing my words .

My old self would have reacted instantly yesterday and escalated things, but I am glad that we learn daily and I am implementing it when needed.

Overall, I have learned that not everything is worth costing my peace, so why not get angry but don't stay angry? So far, I am applying calmness, patience, and understanding in dealing with anger and madness that arise with life dealings each day.
