Hive Anniversary [Eng][Esp] | My Actifit Report Card: February 7 2025
First of all, a traveling picture to celebrate as I like, knowing new places that lead me to taste the delicious gastronomy of our world.
Well, here I am, three years after coming to this platform almost by chance, without the slightest notion of all its potential and with the great suspicion of those who do not know the web3. I came with no intention of becoming infatuated, although inadvertently, I couldn't stop wandering around the ecosystem continuously, discovering, learning and enjoying.
Surprisingly, I quickly understood how comfortable I felt writing and how easy it was to feel part of this world. It's strange, because I hardly have that sense of belonging and commitment in other aspects of my life. It's a surprise to me and it would be to many people who know me outside this ecosystem.
Three years ago @soy-laloreto helped me to create my account, after explaining me the world of Hive in her Hive desde Cero classes that I'm glad to know are still going on, training more Spanish speaking people to start their blockchain journey. I always recommend people to start with Natalia's program, it helped me to understand where I was standing and to know how to make the right decisions as a user of the platform. Congratulations Natalia for the great work you continue to do, I always keep in mind your advices and help.
I talk about all this for two reasons. The first is because when I started, my motivation was to share my experiences and discover the world through the stories of other users. I didn't care about the rewards at first because I thought it was a fake and then, when I understood all the effort it took to keep an account active, long lasting and valuable, I thought that with my limited time I would never achieve very much. So I stopped thinking about it and entertained myself by discovering how much I enjoyed writing (me) blogs and playing at creating articles with that pile of photos I always love to take and never knew where to put .
But it turns out that, just like that, three years have passed and, despite the little hope I had in myself, I've achieved things that, although they may be quite minor, seemed unachievable to me at first. It hasn't been a perfect path, many times during my first two years, there were moments of total absence, some shorter and others of a few months. I was overwhelmed by not having the time to do all the things I wanted to do and, in the end, I sinned by not doing a single one.
The switch started following a mix of factors. Starting to work on myself on a personal basis was one of those things, understanding that as long as I enjoyed my way of writing, engaging with others and blogging, I was going to end up building a nice profile, one that was a reflection of who I really am and one that I felt very proud of.
The other thing that helped was to start interacting more with users in the real world, meeting people who share the same passion and ideology as me, motivates me to go ahead with these projects that sometimes seem utopian. Seeing that there can be tangible results, that there are people who try to help others and make the world a better place, is something that has given me much more desire to continue here.
I still have a lot to learn and improve, but I'm getting there. There are also many things to do in Hive and I think it is important that we can feel a real growth at the user level to add value and awareness to the block chain. That is what I would like to do.
Pero resulta que, como si nada, han pasado tres a帽os y, a pesar de las pocas esperanzas que ten铆a en mi misma, he logrado cosas que, aunque sean peque帽as, me parec铆an inalcanzables al principio.
Among the biggest and very recent achievements I've made, first of all, is accepting the offer to be part of the @wolrdmappin team. It was very difficult for me to agree to join any project, first due to lack of time but also due to lack of excitement. However I think it has been the right decision as a first collaboration, because it is a project that I always enjoyed from my beginnings and that succeeded in demonstrating over time that things can be done well. As everything, there are still things to improve, but I'm glad to be there to help to make it happen.
Then there are the latest badges I received this week. A few days ago I saw that I was finally close to moving on from being a mere minnow and becoming a @hivebuzz dolphin, so I made a small couple of power ups that I was missing to reach 10,000,000 VESTS and achieve that milestone. These kinds of things are what I thought impossible when I first started on the platform.
Along with this also came an upgrade in @peakd's badge, in which I became a honey bee for having over 5,000 HP in my wallet, something I'm a bit saddened by honestly, as I know in three years I could have pulled in a much larger amount if I had been more consistent and productive, but then again, there were a lot of ghost months, something I hope I don't fall into again. Then there are some funds that I have taken out of Hive, to cover expenses that have mostly been associated with my participation/travel in Hive related meetings, I don't think that was a bad decision, but I do feel that I missed the chance to invest a little more in the platform. These are important points for improvement.
The second reason why I'm doing all this recap, more than just to write down my impressions after three years in Hive, is because the second post I did in Hive, after my introduction, was precisely my first @actifit's report card hahaha.
I remember it fondly because I knew I was going to be the kind of intense blogger who would write a lot and I was told that many people were just making very short posts using this DApp, however I thought that could change and that I could certainly find my place there, that's why I was very happy when I found out that the actifit team had begun to collaborate with OCD to support publications with more quality and thus recognize the efforts of athletes who also create quality content.
Thanks to this, we started to see an interesting improvement in the activity reports of some users, making it more entertaining for some of the content consumers addicted to making steps (like me) to share and be more engaged with better produced posts. My congratulations to them because it will always be a space where I like to be, even though I'm not the most active user, I'm always counting steps. Once I tried to post daily and, although it helped me to be active daily for a while, I found myself decreasing the quality of the posts just to meet that goal and I wasn't really comfortable. I prefer to do my reports when I feel like reflecting while taking steps, just like today.
@actifit jajaja.
So to conclude, I will talk a little bit about my activity today 07/02 which is when I am celebrating my third anniversary at Hive.
Although I had a busy day, with a lot of things to do and other things to plan, I was able to go for a walk a couple of times during the day. The first time was in a hurry to fulfill obligations and manage several matters, so it didn't even cross my mind to take a picture. It was also raining intermittently and that, along with the cold weather, kept me at bay with my hands in my pockets.
Later, before heading home, I decided to take a few more steps, although in the end it wasn't too many, and it was that I stopped to think that it wouldn't be bad to write about my anniversary, reminisce a bit about the route I've done and take some pictures in the rain to accompany these thoughts.
I was also trying some new shoes that I had just received, I walk a lot and I tend to wear out my shoes very much, lately less so because of how comfortable barefoot shoes have been for me, so I bet on trying a different brand this time, Fleters, and they are turning out to be more comfortable than I expected. The bad thing is that the rain wasn't the best for walking with white shoes, the good thing is that they are made of a material that doesn't let the water pass through and are warm.
The atmosphere was very quiet, as usual when it rains and it is after 8 pm in winter, dark and lonely. The streets, railings and plants were wet from the rain and the drops invited to be there playing for a long time to take beautiful photos, but the cold gave me no break and I ended up capturing very little, little but representative of my day, mood and reflections.
I think the angle, focus and framing in the photos speak a lot about each person, I like to have illustrations of what my eye sees and go back to them later, understand over time what changes and what is it that is always there, no matter what the changes have been.
I hope that in 3 and many more years, I can continue to do this little experiment and keep celebrating it on this great platform.
