Good morning, dear community. I hope you are all feeling well. Today I want to share with you a recipe that will be very useful because it is one of those things that the vast majority of us eat no matter where we are from. Bread is something universal, and today I want to show you how to make a delicious wholemeal bread. As I have been telling you in previous posts, for me it is important to start changing my eating habits and lower my daily calorie intake a little, and mainly that they are not empty calories, but that they provide me with something, as is the case with this recipe that I present to you today: wholemeal bread.
Why wholemeal?
Because it is an unrefined flour, it contains a lot of nutrients. In contrast, white bread is made from refined flour, which provides fewer nutrients. Wholemeal bread is rich in minerals, vitamin B and fibre. It is recommended to switch to wholemeal bread if you suffer from digestive problems. Despite these differences, in terms of calories there is not much difference between the two. But if you are looking to take care of yourself and your health, to eat healthier, this bread is the perfect choice for you.
Below I would like to share with you the process of making my wholemeal bread.
Ingredients
Wholemeal flour (3 cups)
Water (1 录 cups of water)
Salt (1 陆 teaspoon salt)
Fresh yeast (陆 teaspoon, 3g)
Preparation
The first thing we will do is place our flour in a bowl with the water. Important: save the equivalent of one tablespoon of water for later use. Mix the flour and water together with your hands and leave to stand for 20 minutes.
After 20 minutes, we are going to add the salt to our dough and mix our yeast in a small container together with the reserved water. After mixing, integrate the yeast into the dough.
Now we knead gently for only 2 minutes.
Now we will add a little oil in our container and after this, we will let our dough rest for 2 hours.
Bored of waiting...
Once the two hours have passed, we flour our work surface and knead it a little to take the air out of our bread, at the same time shaping it into a ball.
Then we will divide our dough into four and shape them into balls. We place them on our previously floured tray and leave them to rest for 20 minutes. We can leave the oven to preheat to 180 degrees.
Once the 20 minutes are up, we are going to put some flour on top of our bread and then we will make a cross shape with a knife, as shown in the pictures.
Now it is time to place our breads in the oven. We will leave them in the oven for the first 10 minutes at 220 degrees and then another 20 minutes at 180 degrees.
And this is what the bread looks like. I decided to take them out a little earlier because I don't like them so hard. As you can see we have a delicious and nutritious homemade bread.
You can eat it as you wish, but always in moderation. Remember that although it provides us with many nutrients, it also has the same calories as white bread. I will use it to make burgers later, which I will surely share with you.
I thank you, as always, for taking the time to read my post and for always leaving comments and supporting my posts. I hope you have a great day and try this simple recipe at home. While it takes time, it will be well worth it to have homemade bread. See you next time.
