I'm conserving energy at the moment because I don't have a lot of it to spare right now. This sucks for a person who likes to be busy, creative and engaged.
But sometimes we have to slow down. And if we don't life has a way of making us slow down anyway.
Music is a part of my day regardless and always. It keeps my soul alive. It keeps me going when I'm tired. And it gets me back up when things get tough and I get a bit low.
I have a playlist for that. But that isn't the one I'm here to share with you today for the super cool Three Tune Tuesday concept by @ablaze .
(Thanks for keeping the tunes coming, dude)
Today it took me around two hours to wash the dishes. Partly because I'm tired, but also because I got distracted by the music. And I would totally do that any time and again.
Firstly by a #ttt post with a track that took me right back to the 80's.
Could it be that long ago I danced to Gloria Estefan???
And then by some stuff I was playing while I was delaying washing up. Or pretending to wash up. Or avoiding washing up.
It was my "Rise in Love" playlist and there are some really classic tracks on there.
So I thought I'd share it with you today to inspire you, on a maybe grey Monday, to keep fighting the good fight; to remember that you're not alone if you're busy trying to do that; or to remind you that you maybe want to if you've forgotten because responsibility and life, right?
You know what makes me a l'il sad?
It's that we know all this already.
Artists have been reminding us, and saying it far better than I can right here, since forever and a day. Yet we haven't quite been able to figure it out yet.
But I know we can.
I know we can because I'm old enough to have witnessed some change. It takes time. It may seem to take forever... but it does happen.
Here are 3 of my Anthems from the playlist. Although they mention the word "god" I respectfully do not choose one specific way of "this is the right way" myself. And I'm open minded enough to allow everyone to choose their own as well.
Whatever blows your hair back... as long as you aren't hurting anyone else or yourself you're perfect just as you are in my book.
And although I'm not sold on any formal religion, because I mostly see people using such things for not so spiritual purposes far too often (which is also sad), these tracks speak some truth... to me (of course) that is pretty universal and very fuckin' sound.
I hope you enjoy them as much as I still do.
One love ❤️
