Most people are very active on steemit, myself included.
There is one thing that I have started doing however, to make sure that I am getting the most value for my steem power. I write, comment and interact which is the whole point of the site. But as we all know the secondary principal is to earn while doing this. We earn through;
- Blogging
- Commenting
- Voting
I am fairly active on the site and spent as much time as I can participating in all of these activities but I also work 45 hours a week which takes up a lot of my time and can leave me extremely tired at the end of the day. Because of this there are times where my voting power is sitting on 100% for 8 maybe 10 hours while I'm at work or asleep. For me that's a waste of voting power that I could be using to grow my presence on the site.
The Solution: Smartsteem.
Smartsteem is primarily an upvote service but the option is there to sell your votes as well. While I know that some people don't agree with voting bots, as it stands they are a vital part of steemit in it's current format.
I admit to using them myself as adding a few dollars to your post can make all the difference in getting more exposure and having people actually click into it. What i have done is to to authorize smartsteem to use my vote when my voting power is Above 95% . This is because most of the time I use all of my voting power during the day and don't want to be on the site and find that all my voting power has been drained.
So for me using the vote selling service is really a matter of efficiency. Since I joined steemit it has all been about grinding for every extra cent that I can earn. Most of this is through my interaction, but utilizing all of my steem power will earn me plenty extra steem over the course of a year. Over the past two days I have been voting and commenting as much as I do on any standard week.
Mainly on the fifty-words thread run by 
Even still After a nights sleep and going straight to work for another 11 hours when I got home the next day my voting power would have been running at 100% and would have being going to waste. Instead smartsteem made 10 votes using my account earning me 0.077 STEEM and 1.066 SBD all which came from voting power that otherwise would have gone to waste.
This for me makes perfect sense to use. I won't drain my power below 95% leaving me free to continue my usual efforts on the site and anytime that I am to busy to be online my account is still growing and gaining more steem power letting me do more in the future.
While everybody has there own way of doing things, I would recommend this for anybody who does't run down their voting power 100% of the time.
