Sometimes your soulmate is just around the corner, and Alfre found his right in his high school classroom. Back then, they were just classmates and studied together. Her name was Diana. For some reason, they were both attracted to each other, they gazed intently at each other and treated each other very well. They always thought the other only wanted to be friends, so neither of them took the step of confessing their feelings. For a long time in high school, they were just that: friends and classmates.
But thanks to the help of other friends at school, they were left alone in the classroom one day. The others left on purpose because they knew there was something between them. When they were alone in the classroom, there was no other option but to tell each other how they felt. That's where their relationship officially began. It was a curious way to start a relationship. After six months, they got married and moved in together. Of course, since they didn't have much money, their parents paid for the wedding and the apartment to help them out.
Diana started working soon after as a singer at a bar in town. She did it to entertain the customers. She was very talented at singing, so she got the job easily. As for Alfre, due to circumstances, he started working at the same bar, but in a different role: bartender and waiter. It was nice because they could see each other all the time and observe what the other was doing; there wasn't much room for jealousy.

Alfre was thrilled to see his wife sing at the bar, always so elegant and radiant. He longed to sing with her and join in. But he didn't know how to sing. He told her about this desire when he was at home, and Diana told him not to hesitate, that she would teach him so that he too could sing with her someday. It wasn't easy, but after a couple of years and a lot of practice at home, he was able to learn as well.
One day, without anyone knowing, he left his post as a bartender for a few minutes to join her on the bar's stage. They sang together a song they had practiced extensively at home. Everyone who frequented the bar was amazed; they sounded better together than she did singing alone. The applause was deafening. But it was worth it. That was the first time they had both sung together in public. The bar manager was so surprised by what they had done.
He was so astonished that he asked Alfre why he hadn't mentioned before that he knew how to sing. Then Alfre told him he'd only just learned thanks to his wife. The manager liked it so much that he had them sing together from that day forward. Without either of them knowing it, they would form a musical duo. The bar became increasingly crowded in the days that followed. Everyone wanted to see them sing. More people came to see them than to drink rum.

Over time, their fame and popularity could no longer be contained within the walls of that bar; they had to shine and forge their future together. And so they did. They left their jobs as entertainers at the bar, of course very grateful to the owners for giving them the opportunity to grow there. As time passed, they formed an official duo and began releasing their songs and even albums. They gained many fans and followers in the process. They became truly successful. But for them, there is something more important than all this success they have achieved, and that is their love.
Every day that passes, each of them tries to strengthen it in whatever way they can; they don't want that flame they have ignited to ever go out. Luckily, they have music to fuel them, making them even closer each day. The future will surely have its ups and downs, but as long as they have each other, anything is possible. Anything can be endured.
