Ivespino loved seeing how efficient he was, so little by little, he gave him more and more responsibilities until Luis controlled all his money.
There were many audits to see how the singer's resources were being managed, but no problems were ever found. The economist and friend was more than trustworthy, and he had proven it. As the years passed, no more audits were done because his honesty had been proven. Ivespino just kept making music, which became increasingly successful. He was nothing like he had been years before; he was a very famous singer. But money and fame corrupt, and in this case, it wasn't the singer who was affected, but Luis. But the stress of work led him to use drugs again. He also had a lot of debt and problems at home with his family. So one day he was short a thousand dollars and took it from the singer's funds. The massive theft had been going on for a long time; there was no way to cover it up anymore, it was too much money. And for the first time, Ivespino suspected his friend. He didn't say anything, he went straight to his house. He told him he'd noticed the numbers didn't add up. Ivespino already knew about the theft; he just wanted to know Luis's response if he was being honest. Luis assumed he didn't know anything yet, so he lied and said it might be a mistake. That angered Ivespino, and he confronted him and told him everything about the theft.
At that moment, Luis lost his temper, perhaps due to drugs, and shot his friend with a gun he had. After that, he took his own life. The neighbors called the police, and Ivespino was rushed to the hospital. Luckily, he survived. All of this will be remembered as tragic because the money had destroyed everything: a friendship, trust, and it almost ended Ivespino's life. Several years later, he recovered and continued singing, but he will never understand how his friend reached that point. It's better not to know. He hopes the music will erase that memory.
