Okoy or ukoy is a kind of food which is popular in the Philippines. It is made out of the combination of shrimp, grated unripe papaya or the green one, some wheat flour and egg, we also use some orange food coloring, to make it look yellow or orange, this has nothing to do with its taste, but just to make it more pleasing and presentable. Okoy is a simple appetizer in our country, its taste is different and really boost your appetite while eating it. Its crunchiness and fried outer part will give you a much more mouth watering feel, while enjoying and eating this food.
You can see Okoy, beside every market, those are sold together with some rice cake, kakanin, puto and other miryenda or the food for snack time. I usually buy okoy, when we go to the market, once I saw someone selling it, I cannot stop myself to buy at least one for myself, because it is really my favorite, and it satisfies my cravings when I am feeling hungry.
I just write a story about it, because I saw someone who posted it in Facebook, then I remember and crave for this. That is why I am planning to go to the market tomorrow to buy some of okoy for me and for my family. It is best to eat with some vinegar as your sauce, and during snack time but you can eat it, as your main dish too. I can make my own okoy, and I think I am going to buy some ingredients of it tomorrow also, then will do some for the next day. I will try to make some tutorial of how to do my own version or it and I am going to post it here in Steemit later on.
