Hello everyone,
I am writing right now with a throbbing in the index finger of my left hand. It doesn't hurt anymore, but it throbs, and if I may, I will tell you about the series of events that led up to this. Perhaps you, like me, will begin to think a little wisely about the words and thoughts you put in your head throughout the day.
Don't go away, I will always have a happy ending for you. Be that as it may, happiness is something that haunts me and if by some chance some clouds come at some point to my thinking, there is always someone nearby to make me see things in a different light, something for which I am truly grateful.
I don't remember exactly when I last injured my finger.
If you look closely at the first and second picture, which is a little "dizzy" on purpose, and I even made a dark vignette to highlight what I felt when I saw my blood running, you can see a scar there. I got that wound a very long time ago, I think if I remember correctly it was around 2009 or 2010.
Among the gifts, I got for my birthday came a Swiss Army knife, I had never had one, and I was very excited with it, sitting in a very rural place, peeling mangoes, and all kinds of things and I could use it for the first time, when suddenly, I don't know what happened, it slipped and there came the cut. I don't know what she did to herself afterwards, but I stopped loving her so much.
But let's get into the subject, I don't want to make you dizzy with so much information. The point is that I have spent the day thinking about very nice things and ideas growing inside my mind as if they were baobabs (not the ones of The Little Prince; he did not let them be born because his planet was small and he was afraid they would destroy it); but my mind is wide, vast and I can put in it everything I want without damaging it. What's more, that would give it even more life. So those pleasant thoughts even brought music and spoke of sharp pencils... Umj煤, as the cuddly @bolsadeplomo says all the time.
And pay attention because here's the thing, in the sharpened pencils. They were supposed to be a wake-up call to creativity, to be ready when the ideas come to write them down wherever, and then get to work, as soon as there is a chance. However, I don't know if that sharp theme must have short-circuited with something inside me because after I decided, with great inspiration, to cook my delayed lunch, which then turned out to be the meal, the knife did its thing.
Wait there seems to be someone lost... or can't find a way to get off, or is afraid of heights.
Things that make me smile because I'm trying to reflect on happiness, right?
So I'm going to be practical, I hurt myself, maybe I was distracted, in my deep thoughts, or just that had to happen. What else can we conclude from the bloody affair? It hurt, I staged my little drama, I grabbed the poor little nanixxx that needs affection, I laughed at my foolishness and went on cooking a delicious dish that I later tasted on my terrace, trying to watch 3Speak videos, without success, because here in Cuba the connection is divine. 馃槄
This reflection comes for several reasons.
1 - I have seen many people dilute themselves in sadness when things do not work out as they would like.
2 - I have seen that in these days of shortages and difficulties, complaining is a prevailing thing.
3 - I have seen that happiness is not a state that one has to reach by doing this or that or achieving this or that. Happiness is simply within oneself and is what makes us react to the different situations we face in more or less happy ways.
Edwing's Creative Kitchen
In the middle of all these reflections, I was with my delicious dish (saut茅ed Eggplant, Potatoes, Cabbage, Peppers, Chicken and other spices) when it occurred to me to visit my Venezuelan friends @aguamiel and
@edwing357 on their Discord channel. No, we can't say
unfortunately it was a virtual visit, we will simply say that it was the visit I could make at that moment and it was wonderful.
It is very nice to arrive at a place and be received with affection. They were listening to rock music from their land, and I joined them in their joy. Then mine was boosted to the cube.
It was a pleasant time, I told them that I had cooked that recipe, very much my own, I am not a cook of measures and portions, I simply let myself be carried away by the smell, the taste, the seduction of the vapours... and I also told them that I cut myself, that I bled and the sweet poetess immediately dropped some verses. They asked me if I had made a publication for the community of cooks and I answered that I have never dabbled in those topics in Hive. Between one line and another on that chat, the ideas took shape and you see me here, reflecting on happiness.
@edwing357 suggested that I draw Frankenstein on the band-aid, but (this is a bit tricky) I'm not very good at drawing.
How can you find joy in such simple things, don't you know? I'm sure many agree with me that probably the happiest moments we can have in our lives are totally free. And this is time that you give yourself, such as that golden hour with the one you love, that thought that knows no barriers and can change a person's life, the willingness to help, to serve another, to make that equal recognize himself as unique and important... or the ability to see in the difficulties many more opportunities for growth, it's that simple.
Here is one of the songs from the playlist that was playing in the Creative Kitchen.
