I have written about various types of the chicken recipes. I have not covered the topic where you can see the process of marinating the chicken. So today I wish to do just that. I want to show you how to marinate the chicken and that too with the help of photographs.
Here is the final step of the chicken marination.
So let's go and take a look at how to marinate the chicken.
Step 1
Get boneless or with bone chicken. Make sure to remove the unwanted fat. And now make sure to clean the chicken under the water.
Step 2
Now take 1 table spoon of apple cider vinegar and then pour it over the chicken. Make sure to cover the chicken completely. You can also make use of the lemon juice if you want. This helps the chicken to tenderize in the due process.
Step 3
Now let's start adding few ingredients. Add salt into the chicken pieces. Make sure you don't overdo it, 1/2 tbsp is often enough for the entire 250g.
After that take thick curd, you can make it at home or buy something like this from the market.
Step 4
Mix the salt and the curd mixture on the chicken pieces. Make sure each chicken piece gets mixed with it.
Step 5
Now add the turmeric powder into the chicken pieces. Usually 2 tbsp is more than enough for the 500g of chicken pieces.
Step 6
Add the jeera powder, corinader powder and oragano into the mixture.
Step 7
Add paprika or the red chilly powder into the mixture. Make sure to avoid the green chilly into the mixture as it can be bad for stomach.
Step 8
Now add the other herbs that you want to use for the marination. I make sure to add the fennel seed powder too. As that adds a good flavor.
Now that you have all that it takes for the mixture. I'd recommend you to mix all of this and get the chicken pieces totally covered into the mixture.
How long to keep the marination mixture?
Most of the resto and the small stalls keep such mixture overnight. And make sure to have enough depth in the marination. If you are keeping it overnight make sure to keep it in freezer because after 5 hours you have to watch out for the curd bacteria making the chicken tender and soft. If you are planning to do this for less than 5 hours, then you can keep it outside freezer and atleast keep it for 3 hour to 4 hour of marination process.
Few things to note is that don't use the apple cider vinegar too much. As it could lead to making your chicken more harder rather making it softer. So you have to make sure to keep lemon juice and vinegar mixture for the marination process.
Only take out this mixture 30 minutes before you cook. The reason being you need minimum 30 minutes outside freezer for settling the mixture. If you have kept it outside freezer then you can use it directly without having to wait for the mixture to be added directly for your cooking process.
I hope this helps you marinate the chicken for your next chicken process. Do let me know your chicken marination process, I'd love to know through your comments and your suggestions.
