Today, I am sharing a shot of raw Yemeni agate pieces resting in the palm of my hand, before starting the cutting and polishing stages.
Take a look with me at the main stone in the foreground; a rock with a rough, natural crust, yet it opens a stunning window that reveals a mesmerizing inner "eye." This eye is formed by concentric, overlapping layers of warm colors, ranging from golden yellow to vibrant orange, surrounded by dark shadows—giving the impression of a glowing flame in the heart of the stone.
In the background, the other raw pieces appear with their fresh fractures and glossy surfaces in deep, dark tones, reflecting the rich diversity of the treasures yielded by our mountains.
Each raw piece is a unique piece of art, and a wonderful challenge for the craftsman to bring out its hidden beauty. 🛠️ The craft begins right here!
