"You look so good for your age."
"How do you know how old I am?" said the gnarled tree.
"You look a bit, how can I say it?" said the baby tree.
"Gnarled?"
"Yes, you look a bit gnarled," said the baby tree
"Actually, it's from years of adventure, not age. I've done so much with my life. I've even lived to see a few battles."
"Battles? Around here?"
"Yes," said the gnarled tree. "People fight. Give them some swords and some weapons and they're right at it."
"People don't fight for no reason," said the baby tree.
"There's probably a reason behind it. I just see people, flags, swords and other weaponry."
"What did you do?" asked the baby tree.
"I just kept still. Then, when there was a sword fight, I'd slightly influence it in some way. Help the good guys."
"How did you know who the good guys and bad guys are?"
"I had a chat with the wizard. He gave me a little background on proceedings. He was a nice fellow."
"Wizards?" asked the baby tree. "You knew a wizard?"
"Yes."
"I didn't know they still exist."
"Oh yes," said the gnarled tree. "They still exist. You may not notice them but they are still around. They find ways to blend in with society."
"Why?" asked the baby tree. "Why have they got to hide themselves?"
"A good question, young tree. People are very strange."
