Baked Chicken

Good evening, dear friends of the hivefood@hivefood community. It’s a pleasure to greet you all. I hope you’ve had a wonderful day, filled with blessings—especially blessings of good health. Welcome, everyone, to my blog.

25.jpg

Today, I’m stopping by this community once again to share a delicious recipe for baked chicken. Baked chicken is one of the most popular dishes in Venezuelan households. It’s an easy and simple recipe to prepare. The secret to this recipe is cooking the chicken in its own juices and fat so that it’s crispy on the outside and juicy on the inside.

16.jpg17.jpg

It’s very easy to make, but there are a few tips to keep in mind to ensure a perfect roast. To that end, you can use different seasonings and fillings. In my case—and this is the recipe I’m about to share with you—I didn’t make it with a stuffing, but that’s a great option. Just the chicken with its various seasonings and marinades turned out crispy, with an incredible texture that fell apart on the fork as if it were pulled chicken, while staying juicy on the inside.

This is an ideal dish for lunch or dinner; it can be served with any side dish, such as vegetables or a salad. In my case, I served it with rice, pumpkin soup, and a delicious glass of guava juice, which helps keep our hemoglobin levels in the right range.

Now I’ll walk you through the ingredients and step-by-step instructions for this baked chicken recipe.

Ingredients

  • 1 chicken weighing approximately 2 kilos
  • 2000 grams of various seasonings: garlic, leek, celery, green bell pepper, sweet chili pepper, and cilantro.
  • 2 tablespoons of soy sauce and 2 tablespoons of Worcestershire sauce
  • 2 tablespoons of oil
  • 2 teaspoons of cumin, 2 tablespoons of whole oregano.
  • Salt and white pepper to taste.

Preparation

The first thing I did was wash the chicken thoroughly and season it with dry spices such as whole oregano, cumin, and pepper. I also added Worcestershire sauce, soy sauce, and oil, then let it marinate for about 15 minutes. I blended the fresh herbs, found a large tray, poured them into it, placed the chicken on top, and let it marinate for about 15 minutes.

Then I put it in the oven and checked on it from time to time; I let it bake for 45 minutes, and it turned out super delicious and almost crumbly. I plated it and served it with the side dishes I mentioned earlier.
