In recent weeks, altcoins have seen very suppressed growth (especially our beloved cryptocurrency STEEM) due to Bitcoin's growth and tension. After the cancellation of the Segwit2x fork, many coins are starting to recover and flourish!

Of course, this includes our own STEEM, currently trading at $1.07:

Steem has been below the dollar (below 90¢ too) for quite a while now, but today we finally were able to break the dollar again. Additionally, the SBD peg is slightly stronger (SBD's are worth $1.02 right now).

A Grander View

Across the table we're seeing very good statistics:

alt

We're almost at a market cap of $210B and we have a 24-hour trade volume of almost $10B! This is definitely one of the peaks in cryptocurrency.

Looking at the top coins as a whole is like looking at a lush, green field with some small red roses planted randomly in between.

alt

A very small number of altcoins actually went down, including Bitcoin Cash, BitConnect, and Electroneum.

Conclusions

This is definitely quite some good news for Steem. Hopefully this path can continue, and we can see even more growth for the coin that monetized the Internet :)
