A beautiful new morning to all of us, I hope that we had the most pleasant night rest. Today we are up early enough as there is a whole lot to be done in the farm.
The grasses have finally caught up with and are already choking a good portion of the farm, weeding has to be done immediately to avoid any damage to our crops. Like you all know that grasses and crops cannot coexist together. It doesn't take too much time for grasses to choke a帽y crop to death.
Having completed our activities in the farm yesterday, we decided to check on the scotch bonnet pepper and here is what we have so far.
The pepper has finally began to give us some fruits after a good period of waiting, we didn't expect it to take this long before this happens but some times a lot happens in the farm and are so unpredictable.
Compared to the scotch bonnet pepper you can see that these other specie of long pepper have since started producing it's fruits which have been ripening along side and been harvested already.
A lot of factors can contribute to delayed and productivity in pepper plants and one of the major ones i脽 when you have not planted the right seeds. A lot of time we are always careful about the type of seeds we purchase but one can never be too careful. Even in the seed store housed where seeds are stored mixups can happen with labelling and anything. Such that when you mean to plant a crops with lesser life span a mixup happens to divert such.
Another mixup can happen in the farm even after planting your crops. During pollination, your crops can get mixed with those of a帽other farmer from neighboring farms and when you preserve some seeds hoping that they will be good for next session farming it turns out otherwise.
Aside the facts that you need to meet with all the necessary conditions for the growth of your crops in terms of good fertile soil, weeding and proper tilling of the ground we have to watch out for more factors that can cause a delay in the productivity of our crops.
After almost about a month that the other long pepper above has been growing well and flourishing, the scotch bonnet have finally been able to produce some pepper on it in which a few are begining to get ripe.
There may be other factors that have delayed it's growth which I may not be aware of yet but will continue to watch this and see how the turnout and productivity level of these particular ones we have planted.
