More rain in the gauge yesterday morning put us at near .9" for the storm which was super needed in the region. Nicely it dried out enough for me to work.

After getting the boys to school I loaded tools and headed to my client's house. I emptied out the car and laid out the tarp inside to put all the debris on. I wasn't positive it would all fit but I had a good idea it might.

This was the subject of the removal. The stairs were trash and not made the best. Much of the buried wood was mostly or fully decomposing and only the stuff laying on the surface was any good.

I started at the bottom removing the wood and paving stones. Hauled it all up top. The solid pieces were loaded to the front and I then shoved all the decomposing in towards the back.

LIKE A GLOVE!!!

I raked out the path then laid out the weed barrier I had with me only to find that it was not long or wide enough. So I had to make a run for the proper sized. So off to North 40 I went only to find out they were sold out. Got gas then headed down to Home Depot where I got a roll of 4 ft fabric.

The trunk was packed full and the car rode a good bit lower with the weight in it. I made it back and then got the weed fabric laid out.

Rather pleased with my acute sense of spatial awareness, and my ability to determine the space required for an object. I did REALLY well putting the shapes in the right openings as a child I guess...

With the angle and the smoothness of the fabric I had to place larger rocks in a stair step fashion down the length so the rocks would not just slide down hill the whole time. I started at the top and shoveled rock onto the fabric from the excess nearer the house. When the stairs had been built years back the crew had moved the rock. It worked well as the rock was still available for me to move back.

It was only about 20 minutes of shoveling and I had the fabric all covered.

Client is quite happy and it looks FAR better than it had. They are in their 80s and don't need to be hiking down on this side of the house as they have much easier access on the other side. Talked with Joel a bit as he wrote me a check then I headed for home.

Back the car down to the burn pile and unloaded all the shit wood.

I then unloaded the better, more solid wood, by the wood stash. Some nice chunks of 4x6 and 6x6 that likely will come in handy somewhere around the property.

I unloaded the car the rest of the way and then a bit later got another job that I will go do today up in Newport hanging a chandelier. Small tasks around the house, ordered myself a ladder like a little giant as I need the capability and ability to carry it in the car. Picked up J and got dinner made. Poor @stryeyz had to work till near 8pm and was home after.

Boys to school soon, then my weekly session before heading up to Newport for the job. This afternoon is J's first xc meet after school which we will go to.
