Have you seen a 90° flair before.
I just learnt that there are various types of flair and a method for cutting each. Follow me and see how I achieved this 90° flair.

Here is a plain blouse I have sewn yesterday evening when I had some free time after my morning activities. I was using this blouse to learn something new. With fashion one has to keep practicing frequently if we do not want to forget what we have learnt or to keep up with the newest trend.

One thing I don't know how to do is to replicate other people's design exactly the way it is. Most times we make a whole lot of mistake trying to do so.

For instance I tried replicating the design that we were asked to make of this blouse for a choir uniform but didn't end up getting the lower flair exactly as it is on the dress.

I had folded the fabric into two as seen above and measured out a 90° flair hoping that it will be closer to what I desired but I didn't quite get it right. I have never learnt how to cut this 90° flair before but while working I learnt alot of new things

I understood well that I could have practiced more with some wastable linings or paper before transferring my measurements my measurements to the main bodice. Most likely a 45° flair or a slash and spread method would have achieved the desired style for me, but I'm thankful for the knowledge gained.

Cutting and Sewing

For the cutting and sewing part I had cut out the front bodice using my basic measurements.

Then I proceed to cut the lining in a similar pattern

Next was the sleeves before I started stitching then one after the other.

The first things to do for every stitching is to turn the necklines.
Next is the dart legs. I had sewn both the waist and bust dart to give it some fittings.

Final steps was the sleeves which I had joined to the blouse and here is what I made.

Since we cannot know it all in fashion I'm going to ask our other seamstress in the choir about how they went about cutting their own flair and see who got it right completely. We have a good number of persons who are good at replicating designs but for the others who cannot, it is not a sign that they are not good in fashion designing, everyone has their own weakness, we have to embrace our uniqueness and work within our creative capacity
In the end everyone has some beautiful designs inside of them to share with others.
