Hello everyone my name is mohammed al-dabbagh or moe al-dabagh.
I am an Iraqi immigrant who lived his life in Mosul but had to immigrate due to unfortunate circumstances that threatened my and familys life. I remembered Mosul vaguely before actually going back for a quick visit 2 years ago. It used to be one of the most beautiful places with simple giving and loving people all in our neighborhood and extended area where I lived.
I moved to Jordan when I was still in school and I studied hard to become an engineer with the hope of bettering my family's life outside our home country. I got a bachelor degree in civil engineering from the American University in Jordan with a driving distance of 2 hours trip back and forth every day. It wasn't the easiest of tasks to be honest.
After graduation I got a job as a contractor and things are slowly improving for me and my family. I hope soon to get an income good enough that I could finally let my old father rest for the remaining of his life after a lifetime of hardship. I am lucky to have grown up with a mother who knew how to stretch a buck, or a Dinar haha.
I love living in Jordan, the whether here is nice although winter can be cruel sometimes. Funny story one morning few years ago I had to jump over the fence to leave my house because ice had actually caused our door to freeze shut. That's how cold winter can be here. I would share more photos but I am not able to for some reason maybe next time.
I love playing video games like Dota. I dare you to find a better ADC ;P Fifa with friends, I also love watching and analyzing Movies and anime and tv shows.
The reason I joined the hive is because my friend @amirtheawesome1 suggested I join since I always sought to learn about people from around the world. And he told me I should join in fact he would have pulled a gun to my head if I wasn't in a different country. He suggested that this would be a great place to learn about places and things from people from all around the world that likeminded but also write from personal experiences. I hope to share my story here one day at a time as I learn about others.
In the future I plan to write light funny posts whether about sports, movies, science, just my weekends in Jordan. thank you for joining my TedTalk lol
