I’ll never forget my first primary school, called Gustavo Pozo: the classrooms were circular in design (the school still exists) and its assembly hall was like a Roman circus, but on a smaller scale. Its walls were made of red bricks, laid with great precision. It was very beautiful and impressive.
Mi segunda etapa fue becada, en la escuela nombrada Cuba-Etiopía, donde trabajamos en platanares quitándole las hojas muertas, no me gustaba faltar a clases, porque nos comíamos las distintas variedades de plátano, algo que me encantaba hacer.
Escogí la carrera de Licenciada en Electro-energética, pasando a la vida laboral. Mi primera escuela en la etapa profesional fue en un batey en Orosco, en aquel entonces municipio Bahía Honda.
My second stage was funded by a scholarship, at the school called Cuba-Ethiopia, where we worked on plantain plantations removing the dead leaves; I didn’t like missing classes, because we got to eat the different varieties of plantain, something I loved doing.
I chose to study for a degree in Electrical Power Engineering, before moving into the world of work. My first job after qualifying was at a sugar plantation in Orosco, which was then part of the municipality of Bahía Honda.
Conocí la cultura de ese lugar, donde la mayoría de los pobladores cortaban caña. Personas humildes de bajos recursos, pero hospitalarios, educados y muy trabajadores. Ese lugar me marcó para toda mi vida.

Así transcurrieron los años hasta mi jubilación. Me siento muy emocionada de iniciar esta nueva aventura en Hive. Donde podré conocer nuevas personas con gustos similares a los míos y también aprender nuevas cosas muy interesantes. Mi hijo 
I got to know the culture of that place, where most of the locals cut sugar cane. They were humble, low-income people, but hospitable, polite and very hard-working. That place left a lasting impression on me.
I then continued working, but this time in Havana, as an energy inspector for the 10 de Octubre municipality, where we carried out analyses of the water and electricity supply systems; visiting factories, businesses, schools and other organisations.
And so the years passed until I retired. I’m really excited to embark on this new adventure at Hive, where I’ll be able to meet new people with similar interests to mine and also learn lots of interesting new things. My son
