What’s up, friends? I hope you’re all doing great. I’m back again to share my latest illustration with you.
I’ve been continuing to practice shading with line work, and I find it truly wonderful; I think it’s a very free style that allows you to let your strokes flow without worrying too much.
This time, I created an illustration of a rose. As you know, the rose is a flower with many meanings, in addition to its great natural beauty, making it a very common symbol of inspiration in art of all kinds.

He seguido practicando el sombreado con líneas y me ha parecido algo muy maravilloso; pienso que es un estilo bastante libre que te permite dejar fluir los trazos sin preocupaciones.
En esta oportunidad hice la ilustración de una rosa. Como ya saben, la rosa es una flor que tiene muchos significados, además de una gran belleza natural; por lo tanto, es un símbolo de inspiración muy común en el arte de cualquier tipo.
As for the illustration itself, I tried to create a cleaner and more defined sketch this time. When it came to drawing the lines, I didn’t make them completely straight, but rather followed the natural curvature of the petals. It was quite exhausting, as I had to shade petal by petal—first building up the deepest shadows with multiple overlapping cross-hatched lines, while making sure to leave small white spaces in the center of each petal to simulate light.
En cuanto a la ilustración, esta vez procuré hacer un boceto un poco más limpio y definido, y a la hora de trazar las líneas no las hice completamente rectas, sino siguiendo la curvatura natural de los pétalos. Fue un tanto agotador, ya que había que sombrear pétalo por pétalo, haciendo primero las sombras más profundas con múltiples líneas entrecruzadas entre sí y procurando dejar unos pequeños espacios en blanco en el centro de cada pétalo, de modo tal que simulen la luz.
I did the same for the stem and the leaves. However, this time I felt the need to bring even more light into the petals, so at the very end, I drew lines over them using the eraser. This gave it a really nice look, as I was able to define the shape of each petal much better.
Así mismo lo hice con el tallo y las hojas. Sin embargo, en esta ocasión sentí la necesidad de darle más luz a los pétalos, por lo que al final de todo tracé líneas con el borrador. Esto le dio un aspecto muy bonito, ya que conseguí de esta manera darle una forma definida a cada pétalo.
