The weather was too windy for our usual Parade of Wonders that kicks off Calgary Comic Expo. So they set up a dance party in front of the BMO convention center and had a live DJ. The mayor and a few attending celebs came down, and we made the most of it all with 45 minutes of dancing followed by the opening ceremony.
All in all, it was still a great start; the mayor was dressed as Mario inside a green pipe. Calgary has had some large water main issues that the new mayor, Jeromy Farkas, has been working on fixing, so his cosplay play was very apropos. I saw some knights, some Mandalorians, and even Heisenberg himself, Walt White, getting in on the action.
