I have a real sweet tooth. Ever since I can remember, it's always been dessert over food! Before, my treat of choice used to be chocolate, but as years went by, my palette grew more refined, and I moved on. Today, my worst addiction is cookies. Nothing beats a yummy cookie dipped in a warm cup of coffee (my other vice).

Of course, the chocolate kind is preferred. Don't get me wrong; I'll eat them all: chocolate, vanilla and pistachio, strawberry, rusks, crunchies, biscotti, sugar cookies - it's equal opportunity for all cookies. But when the chocolate bits melt in your mouth, post-coffee swim, it feels like happiness, and nothing can ruin it. But I digress...

Today I'm not here to write a sad variation of cookie porn, but I'm here to tell you the cookies are safe (from me, at least)! I have been on board the cookie train all winter, and I jumped off a moving train and went cold turkey last week.

Day 7: The cookies are still safe

It's now been almost a week without cookies. I had a bit of cake on Friday, a small piece. But that's about it. I have been tempted to break out the cookies as everyone at home loves them, so we always have a stash. But I'm going strong. If for no other reason than dropping a few kilos, as I'm sure cookies are the main reason for me packing on those winter pounds. I feel a detox is needed. I'm going to go as long as I can. But 30 days should be the minimum.

Here goes nothing; wish me luck.

What's your favourite cookie?

Just because I can't eat them does not mean I can't talk about them. I wanna know what your favourite cookie is.

Much love From Sunny Cape Town,
