Not only is today ๐น Valentine's Day ๐น, February is also National Chocolate Lovers Month. Oh, goody goody gum drops! This lil' Cupid sure does have a sweet treat idea to share with you! ๐
To make Chocolate-Covered Strawberries, you'll need at least one pound of fresh long stem strawberries. Wash your produce and make sure your berries are completely dry before you proceed to the next step.
You'll need three ounces of semisweet & white chocolate per pound of strawberries.
Tempering chocolate can be tricky. So, if presentation is of the upmost importance, I suggest using compound chocolate melting wafers.
Follow the manufacturer's instructions for microwave or stove top heating methods.
Once melted, hold the strawberry by the stem (pull the leaves up and out of the way) and dip the strawberry completely...
Next, gently press your chocolate-covered strawberry into chopped nuts, coconut flakes, sprinkles, chocolate chips, crushed cookies or cocoa powder. Or, decorate with even more melted chocolate! ๐
Place coated strawberries on waxed paper. Cool in the refrigerator for 10 - 15 minutes, or until hard.
To make your dipped berries even more chocolaty with Godiva liqueur, watch my video how-to!
