The topic line is a quote from my sister’s friend. She intended to pinch me by that. I took no offence, as in that situation she was absolutely right. It’s also a general truth in life. If want something, we will try to achieve it. If we don’t care, we will find excuses. As the wise Biblical King Solomon said:

“A sluggard says, “There’s a lion in the road, a fierce lion roaming the streets!””
‭‭Proverbs‬ ‭26:13‬ ‭NIV‬‬

I will come back to this tomorrow and elaborate on what I wanted today and what I did towards that end. Too late and too tired now for more writing- blame the vaccine booster which I took in the morning.

Sleep well. Good to be #AliveAndThriving !

Edited:
My goal and the motivation behind it may sound silly (and they are), but are a good illustration of my point here.

So, I was paired against bucipuci@bucipuci aka the Workdays Titan in @MAcFiT Champions League Semifinals. Many of you #alive 'ans compete there. It's all about being active and posting ctifit@ctifit reports on "match days". bucipuci@bucipuci "walks for work", therefore is borders impossible to better him on a workday. He gets stepping counts in the range of 50k. However, the semifinal is played over two days, with the second leg this coming Saturday. I am a Weekend Hiker, therefore I do high step counts on Saturdays.

Now, my goal being to win over bucipuci@bucipuci and play in the Final, I had planned to get as close as possible on Wednesday and then my hiking Saturday should nail it over me revered oponent, who would need to rest after a busy week.

The obstacle: 3rd shot of Pfizer vaccine. I didn't take well the second one. So as precaution, I had taken a half day off yesterday (had to sit the other half in a meeting). My shot was in the morning, in a place 5km away from my flat. Normally I'd drive, but I took the opportunity and walked. Then walked back, taking a detour via McDonald's. Feeling ok, I used the remaining two hours of my time off from work for vacuum cleaning and mopping all floors in my flat (long overdue). I was very thorough - not that I cared so much about clean floors, but getting to some long forgotten corners upped my steps :-)

Next, I had to work (i.e to sit - home office). In the evening I had an appointment with some friends to play board games (the old school style - with real boards, cards, chips etc). My friend lives 6,5km away. The plan had been to drive, but as I didn't feel any side effects of the vaccine, I walked. When we finished, I walked back.

All of these efforts gave me a decent step count of ~39k. That means that on Saturday I stand a chance of making up the difference. bucipuci@bucipuci scored 49k yesterday.

Greetings to bucipuci@bucipuci, browery@browery and masoom@masoom - semifinalists of #MAcFiT Champions League and to racibo@racibo, with kudos for his #poprzeczka competition.
