Wednesday Walk and Make me Smile .... March 2, 2022 Edition
Welcome to the new edition of my walk this week! Time passes by so fast and it is March already. After a dentist appointment in the nearby Wasserpark, I opted to go to the Park to check on the birds. As the parks have many man-made ponds, the birds were nowhere to be found. The place was almost empty because it rained that day.
I did not see anyone and I went further to the other pond parallel to the playground, still no birds! Where are they? I thought....
Then I knew why..... a woman was carrying three pouches of flat bread and threw the content on the water.
All the birds came to her direction and although some did not realize that bread surfaced the water, only a few birds and doves picked-up what was happening. So they started to come nearer to where the woman was standing.
Until two swans came, all birds were careful not to get close to the two swans.... what would the Wasserpark be like without the swans. They used to be so many swans and ducks in all of the ponds in this Park. Its population had exploded during the days when the Park was unspoilt over two decades ago . They have added another pond with clean filtered water from the Danube. I wonder where they are now and what happened to those birds.
It is forbidden to feed these birds and everyone who visits the Park knew this because all entrances have shields that states bird feeding is prohibited. Anyone caught feeding will be fined.
It was lovely to sit awhile and watch the birds swim and fly. I am sure some have built nests on the park trees.
Happy to be here and enjoyed the serenity of the place and saw nature at its best. Thankful to God at his great creation. One can have all the peace here and as for me I felt rejuvinated by just sitting a while there watching those beauties. This day made me smile and I am sure I will come again.....
