Last night seemed like just another night. Drinking a few beers and browsing Steemit. As I browsed I heard the familiar ping of the chats.
Aye aye, I thought. Is this some fodder for Uncle Boom?
I opened the chats up and there, much to my delight was a message from Mrs Steemit!!
Aw wasn't this nice. What man doesn't like a lovely lady dropping by to say hello? Although I did think, isn't that odd for her to say I have been around a long time. I mean, hasn't she?
Wait a minute... Could this be a scammer? I headed off to Steemit to check. Oh look, on Steemit it's mrs.steemit... note the full stop. This lady had no full stop.
Further investigation required. I would surely know she was a scammer is she asked me for money?
Oh, there we go! Straight in with the sob story and request for money! Note how she didn't want the money sent to her steemit account. If I had any doubts this was a scammer they were gone now.
Time to have some fun.
She wasn't one for the small talk. Just kept banging on about the sick child. I laid out my proposition.
She wasn't very responsive. I worried I was losing her. I decided to show willing and pretend to send the money.
That got her back. At the thought of the money coming, she was back chatting. I expressed my unease about sending to Bittrex though. She reassured me...
Oh, send it to the brother could I! Well that's alright then! I pretended that I would. Then I thought to ask for something in return.
It looked like norks is a universal term then because astonishingly and terrifyingly it worked. Well this was a surprise. I mean, to be quite frank, I had no interest in seeing her norks. I was only pulling her leg! What to do?
I decided now was the time to call him/her out for using Mrs Steemits name.
She never answered any questions about why she was using Mrs Steemits name. Just kept asking for the damned money. It was most uncouth.
I reassured her that I would send a photo of my wallet as evidence.
I mean, she really does. Or whoever that photo was of.
Anyway, I have alerted the admins of the chat and thought I would share my Saturday night entertainment with you.
Keep those dolphins noses safe! And stay alert for chat scammers!
