Brief breviary II
A cloud came violently
And with it
The thunder and the fierce rain,
Over the little garden
That did not yet know
The existence of spring.
But the garden resisted,
It withstood the storm;
A flower was its shield,
An impassable shield to the bloody wrath,
When it turned its petals,
Delicate and rosy petals,
Into terrible spears of warning.

I have hopes
That the day will be full of light,
No disrespect to the rising flower,
No stain to the backwater waters,
Without cursing rumblings against man,
Or woman sullied by stupid arrogance.
I have hopes...
To see love emerge among eternal hatred;
To admire hands clasping,
Instead of strangling helpless necks;
I have hopes...
Above all, to see every sunrise and sunset
From now and forever...

It is an opal in your hand
Seemingly a cold quartz stone
With no other interest than the yellow color caught
Between its reflections, the sun almost annihilated.
You speak to me of reversing the past:
And how do I set in motion
The machine of a frozen time?
It's an opal in your hand,
With all the flashes of light
Of yellow chiseled
In the petals withered by weeping.
What to do to change the past?
I don't have the solution in Einsteinian systems,
But I do have the hopes interwoven between the fingers of my hands.
It is an uncut, unpolished opal,
A hard quartz crystal numb,
Resting quietly in the palm of your hand.

Breve breviario II
★
Una nube llegó violenta...
Una nube llegó violenta
Y con ella
El trueno y la lluvia fiera,
Sobre el pequeño jardín
Que aún no conocía
La existencia de la primavera.
Pero el jardín resistió,
Resistió la tormenta;
Una flor fue su escudo,
Escudo infranqueable a la iras cruentas,
Cuando convirtió sus pétalos,
Delicados y rosados pétalos,
En terribles lanzas de advertencia.

Esperanzas
Tengo esperanzas
Tengo esperanzas...
De ver surgir amor entre el odio eterno;
Admirar las manos estrecharse,
en vez de estrangular cuellos indefensos;
Tengo esperanzas...
