La fruta se parte,
por la mitad se abre,
deja ver las mitades,
ojalá sea un ser amable.
The fruit is split and opened in half,
reveals the halves, I hope it's a kind being.
Cuando las mitades se voltean,
descubro las caras ajenas,
ellas son serias
y sonríen cuando se observan.
When the halves turn over I discover other people's faces,
they are serious and smile when they look at each other.
Tantas sonrisas generan
fracturas inmensas
la fruta en pedazos queda,
ya ni los ojos se observan,
pero las sonrisas siguen intensas.
So many smiles make the fruit fracture in a serious way and in many broken pieces, not even the eyes can be seen anymore, but the smiles are still going strong.
