I have told the melon to arrive soon, because I want to make a nice frozen juice, it arrives rolling judiciously, with its rough light brown skin. A melon that arrives on time just as I asked it to, and after its journey, it gives me a big smile.
I reach in and take a sharp knife, I have to cut very carefully so as not to damage the precious fruit. I make several cuts to get a piece of good proportions, but I don't take anything too big, because I want it to last me for many years. With admiration I notice that the melon keeps something inside, it is like a surprise fruit, carrying a nice looking carrot.
I take the carrot in my hands, to secure it elsewhere, but I haven't forgotten the juice and continue my work by carefully cutting the melon. Once the drink is ready, I sit down to chat for a while with my new orange friend, the carrot that was in storage because a surprise fruit turned out to be the melon that arrived this morning.
