Saludos comunidad!
Greetings community!
Today I come to share a dessert that I prepared to satiate the desire to eat something sweet but healthy. Those who follow me for a long time know that I have a sweet tooth, in fact almost 80% of my recipes here are sweet, so imagine how difficult it is to fight the craving for something sweet now that I'm not eating sugar or artificial sweeteners. It's a real challenge.
Speaking of challenges, a few days ago I saw a video of a man who is having dinner with a friend and he tells him that why not try a fried potato just to feel the taste, the man says no, because although it will not affect his diet, it will affect him psychologically.
Why? In my experience these days I have had to maintain my routine of making the normal meals for my family, I am one of those people that while cooking I try everything, to check the salt, sugar, seasonings or just for a snack. Today I have refrained from trying anything that is not in my diet, because I know that if I just try them I can awaken my anxiety for those foods, which are not really bad, it is not junk food or anything like that, they are just foods that I have eaten all my life and now I am reeducating myself to avoid those that hurt me.
Even, I am not alone in this, my family, husband and daughter support me and many times we all eat the same, later I will show you that this "Diet" is not bad nor do I go hungry, I only eat things that really nourish and not just to satisfy my hunger or my anxiety.
That's right, fruits exist to give us that taste of something sweet at snacks or dessert after lunch, besides being especially rich in vitamins, only that sometimes we combine the wrong fruits, or make them juice adding sugar and removing the fiber.
The ideal is to eat the fruit in natura, simply grab a mango and eat it in bites, as you can see in this photo I took of a healthy snack, two beautiful mangoes that filled me with happiness, because besides satiating my sweet tooth, they took me back to my little house in Venezuela.
And today my dinner was a delicious fruit salad, I prepared it the right way, without adding sugar or artificial sweeteners, I just chopped papaya, mango and banana. To garnish I used oat flakes and whole natural yogurt.
I take this opportunity to show you an app that the nutritionist recommended to me where you can check the products on the market to see if they contain additives, trans fats, sugars etc.. Just open the barcode reader and it identifies the product and tells you how healthy or processed it is.
I was looking for some yogurt on the shelf and they all gave me negative results, until I checked this Nestle whole yogurt that says it is only milk and probiotics or ferment. It gave me a 100% positive result on the app so I bought it with full confidence, thinking to eat it with fruits.
And that's how I enjoyed my salad, with healthy ingredients, without sugar, like I used to make it before, and I really enjoyed it and didn't feel the lack of sweetness. Rather I felt satisfied and happy to have completed one more day of my dietary re-education, every day is one more step towards my goal: To be healthy.
That's all for now, have a happy day. See you later.
