Meanwhile, in today's package, am going to narrate what transpired between me and my mother. After going through this post, you'll see reasons why you should hold whatever skill you're into very tight and what you should do now to change such weird condition.

Years ago when I finished up my secondary school, my mother woke me up one day and insist that I tell her what I will love to do so as to make-ends-meet. I told her to give me some time to make my needed research and investigation. She told me she's giving me only but 7 good days to give her feedback. Honestly, heavy thinking overwhelmed me to the extent I experienced sleepless nights. To calm the situation, I decided to travel to my Aunt's house. I remained there for months. Approximately 4 months. At the expiration of the 4th month, mom called her sister that I should come back with immediate effect. My aunt pleaded for me to return home in the next seven days. Finally, she accepted.

On that fixed date, early in the morning, my mother called to make sure am coming back. When I reached house in the evening, mom didn't utter a word to me apart from normal family discussions. The next day, she knocked at my door. When she came in, she repeated that her previous question to me. This time, I told her I want to be a blogger. She was furious at me. And she said:

Blog what?, not in this house. Marajah, you're lazy and your laziness is now written all over you if the only thing you intend doing is blogging. So you want the world to see me as irresponsible mother not able to give her daughter a skill. Not in this house. It can't work.

At that, she left my room. Hehehe, the next day, she told me that I must become a nurse. According to her, nursing work trends. Since I had no smartphone, I accepted the offer. Years later, my brother who shares same sentiment with me bought me a new smartphone to start up the blogging business secretly. At a point, I had issues with one of the doctors because he wants me to be his concubine and I refused, that prompted him into maltreating me. So, that my brother that bought me the phone took me over to his place in disguise as if am going to continue with the nursing stuff.

My brother helped me to achieve my goal of blogging as a skill. One day, I made it official to my family that am now a professional blogger in hive Blockchain and I bought 3 traditional wrappers, 2 Indian wrappers, shoes, head tie and wrist watch for her (my mother). Additionally, I added 20k to it as her pocket money. Hehehe, guys, would anyone like to know mom's response? lolz, this is it:

Marajah my daughter, from the day I gave birth to you, I perceived that you will be a blogger. See, I did all I did then just to test you. My daughter, it shall be well with you. Keep on blogging, it's your talent from foetus.

Enough respect!

The lesson

Whatever skill you want to acquire in life, irrespective of who is supporting or not supporting you, pursue it down to the end. All our parents want from us is to be successful. And don't count it on them because they want you to pursue a different goal or skill. Remember, they're more experienced than us. I think, the only thing we should do is to make them believe that following our own goal will surely lead us to success through our actions. Hope I communicated?

Thanks for reading. Do have a blissful day ahead.
