Hey Actifitters,
Yesterday started with Kaia having fun in the snow!
She didn't care that this strange weather (wet heavy snow, then rain overnight, then freezing again) caused lots of damage on the trees in the yard, especially the front yard.
But it also created these beautiful icicles.
Anyways, it wasn't too bad, we still had power, we only lost internet. That means more time for a long walk to the forest. Our tracks from the day before were all gone.
And some obstacles were on the way.
That didn't stop Kaia, she went on the hunt right away, chasing everything she caught the scent of.
I wanted to see how the teepees handled this heavy snow. A few ones were in bad shape, but most of them resisted pretty well.
Of course, Kaia had to visit one!
We found a few more obstacles on the trails. For this one, even Kaia said 'nope, we can't get through', and we had to walk around.
But we could quickly get back on the main trails and finish our walk.
As usual, when leaving, we said 'Hi' to our tree friend. With the heavy snow gone, it looked better than the day before.
On the way back, we noticed the sun was trying to pierce through the thick clouds, and later, we even saw tiny signs of a sunset, but it was very short-lived.
Like I mentioned in my previous report, I really like walking in the snow-covered forest at night, so much later, we went for a second walk.
Kaia enjoys these night walks too of course.
By then, it was a few degrees below freezing, which means the melted wet snow froze over, and local streets were fully covered with a thick layer of pure ice. Very slippery, even just walking. Glad I don't have to drive anywhere..
And that was it. Since we were still without TV or internet, we continued watching episodes of Orange is the New Black. It's very different from what I expected, but I like it so far.
