Hay artistas que cuando conoces su obra, te marcan para siempre, y eres capaz de reconocer su obra o su estilo sin tener que investigar mucho. Para quienes nos gusta la historia del arte, descubrir eso en los lugares menos esperados, es como llegar al nirvana, pues sientes que estás cerca de las obras que admiras, sin tener que ir a un museo.

Paseando por las calles de Lanús, encontré este mural, un poco descuidado, pero que copiaba el estilo cubista de Picasso, al representar las figuras humanas usando figuras geométricas, pero en este caso, no estaban en espacios neutros, sino que compartían comida rápida y un par de ellas parecían conversar agradablemente.

Es un mural de gran tamaño, que fue hecho en la pared de un terreno baldío, en el cual vemos tres figuras femeninas y una oculta en una olla o caldero, como si tratara de evitar ser vista o descubierta, aunque la escena en general es bastante relajada.

Quizás Picasso no aprobaría esta obra, pero para mi fue la excusa perfecta para hablarle a mi hijo menor sobre la obra de este pintor, y en cómo marcó la historia del arte con su ingenio, además de que dio pie para luego buscar en Google algunas de sus piezas emblemáticas, como lo fuera El Guernica, y su trasfondo social.

Volviendo a la obra, una diferencia fundamental es el uso de los colores, que en este caso son de tonos pasteles, a diferencia de los tonos oscuros o vibrantes que Picasso solía utilizar en sus pinturas, además que la vibración que produce visualmente es alegre, en comparación con la nostalgia y pesadez que reflejan los personajes de este artista.

Analizando la obra en general, pareciera tratarse de la publicidad de un local de comida rápida, pero contradictoriamente no hay sino un mini bosque detrás de la pared, mientras que en los laterales, los locales gastronómicos son de un estilo completamente distinto.

Es una lástima que se encuentre abandonado, aunque con todas las muestras de descuido que presenta, todavía posee ese encanto propio de la creatividad puesta en función del ornato de la ciudad y de llevar a todo el mundo, algunas expresiones artísticas que no se ven comúnmente.

Walking through the streets of Lanús, I found this mural, a little neglected, but copying Picasso's cubist style, representing human figures using geometric shapes. In this case, however, they were not in neutral spaces, but were sharing fast food, and a couple of them seemed to be chatting pleasantly.

It is a large mural, painted on the wall of a vacant lot, in which we see three female figures and one hidden in a pot or cauldron, as if trying to avoid being seen or discovered, although the scene in general is quite relaxed.

Perhaps Picasso would not approve of this work, but for me it was the perfect excuse to talk to my youngest son about this painter's work and how he marked the history of art with his ingenuity. It also gave me the opportunity to Google some of his emblematic pieces, such as Guernica, and their social background.

Returning to the work, a fundamental difference is the use of colors, which in this case are pastel tones, unlike the dark or vibrant tones that Picasso used to use in his paintings. In addition, the visual vibration it produces is cheerful, compared to the nostalgia and heaviness reflected by this artist's characters.

Analyzing the work as a whole, it appears to be an advertisement for a fast food restaurant, but contradictorily, there is nothing but a mini forest behind the wall, while on the sides, the restaurants are of a completely different style.

It is a pity that it is abandoned, although with all the signs of neglect it shows, it still has that charm typical of creativity put to use in the decoration of the city and in bringing to everyone some artistic expressions that are not commonly seen.
