Generally people use shrimp or chicken in a Tom Yum recipe but this time, I am using salmon carcass that I bought from the store. The carcass has a bit of meat and perfect to be made for soup. So me being trying to be creative, found an idea to seasoning the carcass with Tom Yum ready-made paste.

Tom Yum has sour and spicy flavor that is perfect for a cloudy day and when you want to feel comfort. It is quite aromatic and has a delicious broth. Combined with salmon meat and oil, this is a match made in heaven.

This soup is also perfect after a hangover. Since it's broth is also refreshing and soothing. not to mention, there are places where they can give you the carcass for free.

Ingredients

  • Tom Yum instant paste
  • 680cc water
  • lime
  • seaweed flakes for garnish
  • A pinch of salt

How to Make

I am using a multifunctional rice cooker.

  • Boil the water
  • Add the Tom Yum Paste
  • Add the salmon carcass inside the pot
  • Wait about 30 minutes
  • juice out lime and pour it on the pot and add some salt
  • Serve while it's hot.

For me who doesn't really have a kitchen, this soup recipe is perfect. I think if I have a proper kitchen, I surely can cook a better soup with more extra ingredients. But since I am trying to live cheaply, this will do. If you are also trying to live frugal but loves food too much, this is one of my hack recipe. I have written several easy and cheap meal to make that won't cost more than 3$ to make and is filling. Not to mention is able to serve for more than 2 person.
