It's trendy for most females to make hairs with colorful extensions. I do see some of them wear long braids, some are very long that it passes their hips down to their ankles. I know it's fashionable, chic and cool but on the other hand, it may pose a risk and can cause harm to those who wear it especially to the careless ones.
I will tell you why I said so.
Some years ago, I was on my way to the market and on getting to the junction where I will board a vehicle, I saw some people gathered by the roadside and a young girl was seated on the floor beside a bike crying and writhing in pains. On getting closer I saw what happened. The girl's long braids was interlocked in the wheel of the bike and there was no was she could move.
How did it happen, I asked?
The bike man said that he picked the girl along the way and just few yards to my junction she started shouting "stop stop, my hair my hair ooo" while hitting him. He was almost thrown off balance but managed to stop, climbed down and that was the sight that greeted him. He brought her down. They have tried pulling them out but they aren't bulging, the more they tried, the more she cries out in pains and they do not know what else to do. I really felt sorry for her and tried consoling her, likewise every other person there.
So I suggested that cutting them was the best alternative, but there was no object to cut them with.
Luckily, there was a tailor just few blocks away from the junction and while I was coming out I saw her opening her shop so I ran back there and pleaded with her to give me her scissors while hurriedly explaining what happened. Seeing how anxious I was she gave it out.
Before long I was back and while the long braids were being cut off, the girl still crying blurted out,
My mummy warned me against this long braids that I'm fond of plating but I refused to listen to her see what I have done to myself now and I just made the hair yesterday. I will not try it again.
After cutting the braids, one woman volunteered to take her to the nearby hospital but...
Oopss, my time is up, wish I could continue. 😂
