Seeing this week's Zapfic Monday topic "River" memories flood my mind of the one time I braved the river by boat.
Here's what happened.
Back in high school, some classmates and I went to visit our sick classmate who lived along the riverbank. They suggested we take a shortcut by ferrying across the river instead of walking over the bridge. Being aquaphobia I made my fears known, but they encouraged me and I acquiesced
