One thing about environmental pollution is it can affect the entire community; it can destroy the ecosystem, also damage properties, and so on. It is so painful that this waste causes problems.
The rule should not be only for companies but for everyone, although the penalty may reflect on the scale and the nature of the offense. Someone who trash an empty bottle of water and a company that releases hazardous waste is not creating the same level of environmental damage that comes from the company, and treating them equally doesn't really make sense. Corporate pollution is not something that can be overlooked.
The authorities find it very easy to punish individuals. An individual who throws trash on the road is so visible and easy to identify. It is not always easy to hold a company responsible for them to hold the company responsible; it involves regulatory agencies and investigations.
Companies have resources that individuals don’t have. Companies can still invest in proper waste management, pollution control equipment, and so on.
Companies should not be entirely blamed when pollution occurs. Must it be caused by individual illegal dumping of refuse and poor infrastructure? In my opinion, I think proper investigations should be done before assigning punishment. The goal is not punishment but to get a good result. We should also protect the land, home, and water.
