Diagnostico de un ruido fuerte que presenta la lavadora de una vecina./ Diagnosis of a loud noise from a neighbor's washing machine.

Excelente día para toda esta gran comunidad de hive motors, que el gran creador mi DIOS todo poderoso los llene de bendiciones y dicha cada día del resto de sus vidas. Mientras espero me llamen de mi nuevo trabajo hacia el sur del estado Bolívar en una empresa del arco minero, ya que me toca reintegrarme en estos días, una vecina me pide el favor le revise y si es posible corrija un fuerte ruido que presenta su lavadora doble tina.

While waiting for my new job in the south of Bolivar state in a company of the mining arc, as I have to rejoin in these days, a neighbor asks me the favor to review and if possible correct a loud noise that presents its double tub washing machine.

El día de ayer me dirigí a la casa de la vecina a revisar su lavadora, lo que pude escuchar fue un fuerte ruido proveniente de la transmisión, así que por mi experiencia y por el poco tiempo de uso de la transmisión mi diagnostico parcial fue falta de grasa en la misma, para estar seguro de mi diagnostico tendría que desarmar y ver porque la falta de grasa.

Yesterday I went to the neighbor's house to check her washing machine, what I could hear was a loud noise coming from the transmission, so from my experience and the short time of use of the transmission my partial diagnosis was lack of grease in it, to be sure of my diagnosis I would have to disassemble and see why the lack of grease.

Empecé a desarmar la lavadora para extraer la transmisión por la parte de abajo extraje los tornillo y así tener un mejor acceso a la pieza que se va a extraer. Ya con la pieza afuera inicie el desarmado de la misma y un reten al extraerlo se partió, no fue problema ya que en mi casa contaba con otro parecido y pude sustituirlo. Se observa que en efecto el fuerte ruido es por falta de lubricación en los engranajes. Ahora bien esto ocurre porque comienza a filtrar agua por la estopera superior, no se observa desgastes en ella y tiene buena flexibilidad lo que me indica que fue su resorte interno (en de la estopera) que se aflojo.

I started to disassemble the washer to remove the transmission from the bottom and removed the screws to have better access to the part to be removed. Once I had the part out, I started disassembling it and a retainer broke when I removed it, it was not a problem since I had another similar one at home and I was able to replace it. It is observed that in effect the loud noise is due to lack of lubrication in the gears. Now this happens because it begins to leak water through the upper stuffing box, no wear is observed in it and it has good flexibility which indicates that it was the internal spring (in the stuffing box) that loosened.

Entramos en la parte final de este mantenimiento correctivo, la solución al pase de agua por la estopera y agregar grasa a los engranajes de la transmisión. Ya que la estopera no tiene casi desgaste y su resorte es muy pequeño que si lo ajustamos se puede dañar, entonces lo que haremos será colocar teflón al eje y al borde de la estopera, para que ajuste un poco más e impida el pase de agua hacia los engranajes. Limpiamos el resto de la transmisión con agua de jabón.

We enter in the final part of this corrective maintenance, the solution to the water pass through the stuffing box and add grease to the gears of the transmission. Since the gland has almost no wear and its spring is so small that if we adjust it it can be damaged, then what we will do is to put Teflon on the shaft and on the edge of the gland, so that it adjusts a little more and prevents the passage of water to the gears. Clean the rest of the transmission with soapy water.

Al finalizar con el engrasado de la pieza y el ajuste de la estopera, comencé a ensamblar la transmisión, luego el armado completo de la lavadora y por último la puesta en marcha del mismo, de esta manera verificamos los resultados del mantenimiento correctivo. Espero les sirva este post para situaciones similares, un consejo si no tiene ninguna experiencia en este tipo de mantenimiento por favor llame a un técnico de confianza, ojo no cualquier técnico he visto trabajos mal hechos por personas inescrupulosas que engañan a sus cliente. Además trate en lo posible de estar en el mantenimiento de sus equipos si se hace en su hogar.

At the end with the greasing of the part and the adjustment of the gland, I began to assemble the transmission, then the complete assembly of the washer and finally the start up of the same, in this way we verify the results of corrective maintenance. I hope this post will be useful for similar situations, a tip if you have no experience in this type of maintenance please call a trusted technician, eye not just any technician I have seen bad jobs done by unscrupulous people who deceive their customers. Also try as much as possible to be in the maintenance of their equipment if done at home.
