As I mentioned in a previous post, I was able to taste the first of my heirloom beefstake tomatoes and was so impressed with the taste, smell and the complete "deliciousness".
Now, I have more that are going to be ready soon and I am curious as to what colour they will be, as the seed packet said there would be red, yellow and very dark varieties - so I shall be waiting patiently!
Although I still have seeds left, I shall be saving seeds from the actual tomatoes as they are harvested as I have never tasted such delicious ones before.
As the heirloom tomatoes have such a thin skin (the inside is just full of juicy pulp and seeds) they have to be eaten almost immediately - well, I don't have a problem with that.
I am hoping these may be the yellow variety.
I shall keep you posted as to how they turn out.
