I am not sure how many people like a hot chilli - I do enjoy them, although I do not eat too many at one time.
However, the other day I picked one to have with my meal, - and well, it was one of the hottest chillies that I have ever tasted!
This surprised me as it came off a bush that I had over wintered and I do not remember these being so hot last season - perhaps they get hotter as the bush gets older?
Regardless of this, I love to grow them as they do well in my containers and have hot sunshine for the most of the day.
A chili is rich in vitamin C and are good for your blood circulation.
If I have a lot, I dry them and then crush them up so that I always have some to sprinkle on pasta and other dishes.
They can also be preserved in olive oil which is great to have for those stir fries to put a little zing into the mix.
Just remember that when you work with fresh chilies, wash your hands well afterwards as you may touch your eyes etc., and this can be very painful.
There are many varieties available - I save my seeds and then when the time is right, I plant them - the dried seeds are all mixed up so I never know which variety I am going to get!
